You probably already know of the many benefits and the versatility of the calamansi juice. It is used as a skincare to lighten dark patches, remove dark spots, and get glowing skin. It is also used as a hair treatment to fight dandruff and promote hair growth. But mostly it is used in food as an additional flavor to pancit noodles or as a marinade for our meats.

Calamansi juice is really a must-have and a make-sure-we-have-constant-stocks-on-hand on our kitchen pantry kind of item. However if you’re bored with the usual calamansi juice and you’re feeling fancy or in the mood for a little buzz, here are five citrusy and tipsy calamansi juice recipes you can try at home from Advanced Mixology:

Honey Calamansi Mojito.

1. Mix 1 tablespoon hot water and 1 tablespoon honey in a bowl. Set aside.

2. Squeeze out the juices from the calamansi which is a great fruit.

3. In a small plate, put the sugar with a red color. Rim the glass with calamansi juice and colored sugar then set aside.

4. Put the mint, calamansi juice and honey and water mixture in a highball glass, using a muddle stick, crush them to release some of the oil from the mint leaves.

5. Put ice and garnish with calamansi.

Mansi Vodka.

1. In a glass, put ice, calamansi juice, vodka, and basil all together.

2. Mix properly.

3. Garnish with a slice of calamansi.

Frozen Mansi-rita.

1. In an ice cube tray, pour the calamansi juice and freeze for a couple of hours.

2. When frozen, put the frozen calamansi juice and tequila in a blender and blend until it’s crushed.

3. Rim the margarita glass salt using a small amount of calamansi juice.

4. Pour the blended calamansi juice and tequila in the margarita glass and garnish with a slice of calamansi.

Calamansi Beer Cooler

1. Combine roughly equal parts beer and calamansi juice in a glass.

2. Fill with ice.

Calamansi Hard Lemonade

1. In a pitcher, combine calamansi juice, water, and ¾ cup simple syrup.

2. Stir to combine. Store in fridge until chilled.

3. Stir before serving. Serve with ice.

4. Add more water or simple syrup to your liking.

If you don’t want the hassle of squeezing the calamansi yourself for its juice, you can always buy cold pressed calamansi juice available on grocery store shelves — just make sure it’s a Davao local juice product to support our local economy, especially during this pandemic. Now I personally adore Malagos Cheeses and Malagos Chocolates so I was overjoyed when I found out that they will be rolling out a Malagos Garden Resort new product which is a Malagos calamansi juice. I don’t know the specific details yet but I am looking forward to get my all-natural, fresh calamansi juice with Malagos! You can view their online grocery store for updates @malagoshomegrownproduce on Facebook.
