During this pandemic, one of the precautionary measures that we can do is to wear a mask. However, a real conscious and cautious person during this crisis is the one who thinks of details. It is never enough to just have a piece of material cover your face, how you put it and the hygiene you do is also important in keeping yourself safe. Masks should be worn as soon as you step out of your homes and when distance cannot be kept. These masks protect you from catching the disease especially that going outdoors is risky. Meanwhile, when it comes to the proper way of wearing a face mask, here are the guidelines according to the World Health Organization:

When wearing a medical mask, the first thing to do is to wash hands first. Next is to inspect the mask for holes, ensuring that a mask has no holes will protect you from catching the viruses. The top side is where the metal stiff is placed and the exterior of the mask is the colored side. Place the metal stiff over your nose. Make sure to cover your mouth and nose and secure it to your chin. Adjust the mask to fit to your face without any gaps and as soon as the mask is worn, refrain from touching it.

When wearing non-medical or fabric masks, still, washing hands is the drill. Next is to inspect the mask for damages or dirt. Adjust the mask to your face without leaving any gaps and cover your mouth, nose and chin. And same as medical masks, avoid touching it too.

When unwearing these masks, only hold its ear loops and immediately discard into a close bin if that’s the medical mask you’re using. When wearing a fabric mask, it is better to wash and sanitize it right away.

As what has been mentioned, a mask should be worn when going outdoors since it is the most risky place to be in, that’s why even in the simplest things like grocery shopping and buying Covid prevention essentials, I always make sure to stay home as much as possible. Even when buying masks and disinfectants, I choose to purchase it at online groceries so I can acquire my needs without going out. When it comes to online stores, I only buy from Instakart because of the wide array of products they offer. It is also where to buy alcohol in Davao and they have other essentials like Lysol available in their store. Now that it is getting more harmful to do things the usual, I always find ways on how I can accomplish tasks just like shopping during new normal and I’m more than glad with the help Instakart offers.

In this time of health crisis, keeping ourselves safe is how we Fight Covid together and as much as we do precautionary measures, we should also be careful and pay attention to the details of the prevention that we do. Stay home, stay safe!
