Homemade Restaurant Dining Experience
Before we were all locked into our homes for our own safety, we were all looking forward to a lot of things — that travel abroad that you’ve been planning, a business venture you were going to start — as for me, it was my standing reservations every weekend at different restaurants. Life is about going out to eat with friends and family. However, it’s been difficult with all the quarantine measures and prohibitions. Going out is not only a hassle but is also a health risk.
A trending alternative is to bring the outside in — have you ever thought of hosting a restaurant dining experience at home with your family or close friends? The home, after all, is our safest space and where we feel most comfortable and with all the advancements in food and beverage industries, there’s no reason your restaurant home experience won’t be a success. Become a restaurateur (or pretend to be) to your friends and follow these simple steps to host a dining experience they’ll never forget.
Set a theme. It is important to define what kind of meal you’d like to prepare and choose a theme that goes with it. Maybe a more of a Parisian café vibe? Or a Mexican fiesta maybe? Think what you and your family might enjoy, or what your friends might like. You can also consider what kind of setup you can do with your dining and kitchen utensils as well. The only rule is to create a laid-back, stress-free, enjoyable restaurant dining experience for everyone.
Decorate. To really get that experience, you’ll need to set the scene. The most important element is lighting. So get those candles out of those boxes and put some on the table and around the dining area. Complimentary music helps as well. Make sure everything is playing and well lit when your guests arrive to easily get into that restaurant vibe.
Establish a menu. Cooking a meal at home should be nothing new, but cooking a restaurant quality meal might seem a bit intimidating. No worries! You can always order something to-go or buy meal kits you can prepare or reheat at home. I’ve always adored Malagos Garden Resort Food among other Davao resort and restaurant for local food in Davao, especially their Pork Humba with Malagos Chocolate and their Pork Sisig. I can always opt to order that instead of preparing my own to really get that restaurant level experience.
Dress to impress. Just because you’re at home doesn’t mean you can’t dress up. Encourage your friends and family to do the same and you’ll surely fit into the restaurant vibe you’ve set up.
If you’re looking for other ingredients to make that dining experience more meaningful and hearty, you can head over to Malagos Homegrown Produce and have your fresh farm ingredients delivered to your doorstep. They have other production aside from their produce — frozen products, signature chocolates and cheeses, meal kits, and even pasta sauces.
