A new concept of vacation that combines business with leisure — that is basically the essence of a workation. With people now working from home during the pandemic, this concept has become a much-needed escape and great opportunity to take work on a holiday and end your WFH boredom at once.

What is workation anyway? The idea behind this concept is literally what it means, working and vacation, essentially a working vacation. If you can’t seem to go on a vacation, then bring your office along with you. This concept earlier frowned upon by some as it was believed to be a blurred line between work and leisure now seems more appealing than ever, along with all the other work-home lines anyway blurring out this year.

Imagine relocating for a few weeks, months or even longer to a destination of your choice that is within driving distance. It does seem like a lucrative idea. You’re up there in the mountains or sitting in front of a pristine beach with your laptop, comfy clothes and a mug of beer on your hand. Who wouldn’t be attracted to such picturesque scenario, especially given the situation? In fact, you can also enjoy the benefits of pleasant weather and unlimited access to outdoors along with fun relaxing activities like birding, fishing, biking or going to a spa.

“Travel companies around the country are exploring the idea of a workation fully to provide people a chance to enjoy work and a leisure holiday at the same time. So, IndiaToday.in got in touch with some of the leading backpacking and travel companies who are providing the option of staying for a longer period of time at a property to their customers. Considering we are living in the middle of a pandemic, all these companies are functioning at a 50 per cent capacity and keeping in mind WFH guidelines by providing a safe, sanitised environment, high-speed internet connection, along with a heavy dose of recreational activity. According to Pranav Dangi, CEO at The Hosteller, people are fed up with their cities, their homes, and workation has become a good way for them to travel. The aim is for a person to work for five days, then enjoy for two days around the destination they are staying at.”

Locally, you might want to try workation in Malagos Garden Davao Resort. This Davao tourist destination is planning to reopen their doors soon for a well-deserved workation resort in Davao City. Check out updates on their Facebook page.
